Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has said the team does not evolve around him, hence his absence will not affect their chances against Egypt in the 2018 World Cup qualifier.
The Pharaohs will host Ghana on Sunday at the Borg El-Arab Stadium in Alexandria in the second round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers as the seven-time African champions hope to take a step towards making their third World Cup appearance and their first since 1990.
The Dubai-based striker insists the players who have been called for the game are equally good and can deliver.
"We've got quality players in the team, we don't depend on one person,” Gyan told Starr Sports.
He added: “We are all going as a team and definitely I have been around for quite some years now and people are used to me and I can also say I am one of the key players in the team.”
“But me not being around I think the other strikers who are in the team can also do something for the nation because they are also doing well for their clubs.
“They just need to stay focused and be confident and I am sure everybody that has been given the chance can deliver for the nation," he added.
