Black Queens skipper Elizabeth Addo has been shortlisted for 2019 African Women’s Footballer of the Year award.

The China-based attacker enjoyed a remarkable campaign with Jiansung Suning where she annexed four trophies during the year under review.

‘Ama Pele’ as she’s affectionately called scored five goals and ten assists in fourteen league appearances for her club in the Chinese women top-flight league.

She lifted all four trophies she and her club participated in throughout the year namely the Chinese women league, FA Cup trophy, FA Tournament and more recently the Super Cup trophy.

Elizabeth will however face stiff competition from 9 other nominees including Nigeria’s Asisat Oshoala and South Africa striker Christen Kgatlana.

The list will be pruned down to three before the awards ceremony on Tuesday, 7 January 2020 at the Citadel Azure, Hurgada, Egypt.
