Elmina Sharks close in on Kofi Abanga

Ex-Hearts midfielder Kofi Abanga is close to joining second-tier side Elmina Sharks, widespread reports have claimed.

The 27-year-old is desirous of returning to the pitch after being released by the capital-based side.

The former Aduana Stars is reported to have held advanced talks with Sharks and will sign a two-year deal barring any unforeseen contingencies.

The once highly-rated midfielder was released by Hearts at the end of the season following a rather difficult career at the club.

He was restricted to few games last term due to persistent injuries.
