Elmina Sharks goalkeeper Joseph Essam is said to be in a stable condition after sustaining an injury scare in their Ghana Premier League opener at Dreams FC.
He collided with an opposing player and had to be rushed to the hospital in Dawu.
But the player regained consciousness and travelled with his teammates back to Elmina.
Essam is expected to undergo a scan test to ascertain the extent of the damage.
''The medical team were very professional in their dealings yesterday. We are happy that Joseph is back to normal but he would later in the day undergo scan to determine the extent of injury,'' Elmina Sharks Club Secretary Kelvin Aboagye Yeboah.
Elmina Sharks conceded a late goal to lose 1-0.
