No word yet on the arrival of paperwork from the mystery central defender from Ghana for MLS team New England Revolution.
According to sources, the player is believed to be Emmanuel Osei from Liberty Professionals in Ghana.
The player's name may not be known officially to outsiders, but Revolution coach Steve Nicol said earlier this week a contract from a central defender from Ghana is expected any day now.
If the international player is acquired, the Revolution would be forced to make a roster move.
Yesterday, the Revolution announced it signed forward Stephane Assengue Ombiogno of Cameroon. Assengue Ombiogno occupies the team's final roster spot and international player slot. The Revolution have seven international spots they can fill. They traded away their eighth slot last June to Toronto FC until 2010 in exchange for Pat Phelan.
