Ghanaian winger Ernest Asante scored the crucial goal that earned Stabaek a needed 1-0 win over Viking in the Norwegian top-flight league on Thursday evening.

The 27-year-old snatched the solitary goal of the game at the Nadderud Stadion in the 77th minute of the clash.

Stabaek are underperforming and needed the win to cool off the pressure on the home side.

But the goal arrived via the sheer brilliance of the Ghanaian wing-man who bravely picked the ball around the area and marched towards the opposition with confidence before hammering an exquisite drive to the bottom left corner of the net.

While Asante was influentially involved for the hosts, midfielder Kamal Issah was also involved in action.

But FC Twente loanee Shadrach Eghan was unused by the victors who recorded just their second win of the season and remain in the relegation zone.

It was Asante's league goal of the season for the under-performing side.
