Former Hearts board member, Ernest Thompson
Former Hearts of Oak Board Secretary Ernest Thompson has ruled himself out to contest for the Ghana Football Association top seat.
With Thompson’s ‘vast experience’ in the game, many have tipped him to succeed the current president Kwesi Nyantakyi in 2019.
But the former SSNIT boss in an interview with Accra-based Happy FM said it has never crossed his mind to be the leader of the FA.
“No, no, I have not really taught about that at all. Kwesi Nyantakyi has made his point clear for not contesting for 2019. It hasn’t got to that stage and I don’t think we should be talking about who takes over.”
He added, ” There are issues at the FA, I know they are having a three-day seminar and I'm supposed to join them but I doubt whether I can make it. I can’t talk about myself being an FA president. It has not even crossed my mind.”
