Essien out for two weeks with thigh injury

AC Milan midfielder Michael Essien has been ruled out for the next two weeks due to a thigh injury.

According to a statement from the Serie A side, the Ghana international “'will undergo further tests in around 10 days' time'' after injuring his right thigh.

The former Chelsea ace will therefore miss the game against Genoa on Monday and probably the home match against Catania next weekend.

The 31-year-old Essien has made six appearances for Milan since joining in January from the Stamford Bridge.

Milan currently lie 11th on the log.
