The Euro 2024 tournament has seen a significant increase in the market values of two standout players, English-Ghanaian midfielder Kobbie Mainoo and Spanish-Ghanaian winger Nico Williams, according to Transfermarkt.
Mainoo, the only England squad member to see a value rise despite reaching the final, was the least experienced player in the tournament. However, his impressive performances in the knockout stages, where he became a key player for the Three Lions, led to a €5m increase in his market value, bringing it to a total of €55m. This makes Mainoo the fifth most valuable teenager in world football and Manchester United's fourth most valuable player.
Athletic Club's Nico Williams also saw a substantial rise in his market value, increasing by €10m to a total of €70m. This makes him the fifth most valuable left-winger in the world and has attracted heavy interest from Barcelona. Williams' outstanding performance at the Euro 2024, where he won two man of the match awards, scored twice, and provided one assist, has undoubtedly contributed to his increased value.
Both players' performances and subsequent rise in market value have made them ones to watch in the football world.
