Medeama SC have appointed Technical Director Augustine Evans Adotey as interim head coach following the departure of Nebojsa Kapor.
Adotey, who guided the Mauves and Yellows to their Ghana Premier League title triumph in the 2022/23 season, will oversee the team until a substantive coach is appointed.
Kapor's exit was confirmed following Medeama's 3-2 defeat to Vision FC in Tema, which left the club fifth on the league table.
"Both parties failed to reach an agreement on contract renewal," the club stated on Tuesday.
Despite sitting three points off the top with 21 points from 13 games, inconsistency has plagued the team this season, leading to the mutual termination of his contract.
Adotey’s return to the helm brings experience and familiarity as Medeama aim to steady their campaign and revive their title hopes.
The club will now focus on appointing a permanent successor while Adotey prepares the team for the upcoming fixture against Karela United.
