Former Accra Hearts of Oak player Charles Taylor has stated that the team lack quality players to compete at the highest level.
The Phobians after going seven games without a win returned to winning ways on Sunday with a 1-0 home victory over Ebusua Dwarfs.
Hearts had a great opportunity to win this season’s league but wasted that chance with poor results recorded in the second round.
With two matches to end the season, they find themselves third on the league log and Charles Taylor, who was part of the Hearts of Oak team that won the CAF Champions League, the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup in 2001 and again helped the team to win the CAF Super Cup in 2001, believes the lack of depth in quality and the management team have caused the team.
“Hearts of Oak don’t have any quality players. The supporters should blame the management for that. Players who were warming our bench are even better than regular players of Hearts of Oak currently.
“During our days that players were not well paid, we were giving out our best, so I also think that the players too are part of the problem,” he told the Kumasi-based Silver FM.
