Accra, Dec. 14, GNA - Ghana's Extinguishers and Heartland of Nigeria have sealed their places at the women's final of the ongoing 22nd Hockey Africa Cup of Club Championship ahead of the ultimate round of matches. Extinguishers squeezed through to the final despite being held to a barren draw by Nigeria's Yobe Queens in their penultimate group phase clash on Monday at the National Hockey Stadium, Accra.
Heartland on the other hand eased through their first final in as many appearances after upsetting holders Telecom Orange of Kenya 2-1. The Ghana National Fire Service team moved to 10 points, a point richer than their Nigerian counterparts, whom they will face in the ultimate match on Wednesday ahead of Saturday's final meeting.
Reformers of the Ghana Prison Service who were surprisingly held to a 0-0 draw by whipping girls, Sharkia Ladies of Egypt, trail in that order on five points, Orange on four points, with Yobe Queens and Sharkia Ladies completing the standings with three points and a point respectively. It is the third time Extinguishers have reached the finals of the African championship and their first since 2007 in Kenya.
