Extra Ordinary Congress fixed for Thursday

Accra, May 3, GNA - The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will on May 5, hold an Extra Ordinary Congress to discuss the amendments of the rules and regulations as well as the report of the Five-man Committee that was formed to review the statute of the Association.

The Congress that is scheduled at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra is in pursuant article 92 (1) of the Associations' statutes. Mr Emmanuel Gyimah, Deputy General Secretary of the GFA told the GNA Sports that members of the Congress are expected to bring along the draft of the new statutes as well as the current one for discussions. The Congress, which is the highest decision making body of the GFA at its last meeting established a five man committee to review the statues of the GFA as directed by the Federation of International Football (FIFA).

The Committee, which according to reports has completed its work, was headed by Mr Kwesi Nyantakyie, Vice Chairman of the GFA with Messrs Jones Abu Alhassan, Randy Abbey, Kwame Ntow Fiako and Fred Crentsil as members.
