Former Board Chairman of Accra Hearts of Oak, Harry Zakour has taken a swipe at the Ghana Football Association accusing them of low technical know-how in signing sponsorship contracts.

The Ghana FA is currently battling telecommunication giants Glo Ghana in court for breaching a contract signed to sponsor the Ghana Premier League in 2012.

Recent media reports have also hinted that First Capital Plus Bank, sponsors of the Ghana Premier League are contemplating pulling out of their contract with the after rebranding their outfit.

But the ‘Millinion Chairman’ as Zakour is affectionately called says the FA do not know how to sign contracts with the sponsors.

Speaking in an interview of Starr FM, Zakour said “The Ghana Football Association does not know how to sit down and plan on how to sign a contract with the companies.”

“You don’t sign a short term contract with a company that wants to sponsor your product. At least it should be a longer period so that you can pin them down that they cannot come out.”

Zakour however said he knows the GFA and the Sports Ministry are collaborating to get better deals for Ghana football.

“But I know the GFA and the Sports ministry are working hard to get new sponsors for the league”.
