President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi is leading a delegation to begin a nationwide discussion on the new national colts league.

The tour which begins Friday, will start in the three Northern regions - Tamale, Bolgatanga and Wa - of the country.

The proposal change includes the significant cut in the number of participating teams in each region with only three regions enjoying more representation.

According to the Kwesi Nyantakyi, the move is part of the GFA’s commitment to the development of colts football.

"We want to see juvenile football enjoy a resurgence. One of the most encouraging aspects of Ghana's football success is the strong development of players from the youth system and their integration into the national squads," the GFA President said.

"Youth football, though a development process must encourage good competition to achieve success. The new structure is to also enable adequate resources distributed evenly to ensure we have a good base for our development agenda and good competition of the best talents."

Each region will have 12 teams in the national juvenile league but Greater Accra, Ashanti Region and Brong Ahafo regions respectively will have 24 teams each.
