Berekum Chelsea hat-trick hero, Kofi Owusu, has credited his rich FCPPL run to colleagues and club’s technical bench.
The 24-year-old, who arrived in Berekum after a torrid one season with 2009/10 champions Aduana Stars, scored in the 14th, 44th and 79th minutes of Berekum Chelsea’s 4-2 Brong Ahafo derby win over Bechem United on Wednesday – the 2014/15 season’s first hat-trick.
“The playing body and technical team have been of immense help so far,” the diminutive attacker told supersport.com.
“Without their assistance, I wouldn’t be getting the balls to bury in the goals."
Owusu is delighted to have started his season so well having bagged five goals from six games he has featured in for Chelsea in the seven-match day old league. He ties with teammate Stephen Baffour and Hearts of Oak’s Gilbert Fiamenyo as joint top scorers.
“It is my first season with [Berekum] Chelsea and the beginning is very encouraging for me. I’m doing my bit of the hard work to be in shape and hope the goals continue coming,” he said.
Berekum Chelsea currently lie third with 12 points on the 16-team FCPPL table after seven match-days.
