FIFA's official visits "Play Soccer Ghana"

Accra, Feb 8, GNA - Mr Fredrick Addiechi, head of Corporate Responsibility of Federation of International of Football Association (FIFA) will pay a three day working visit to Ghana at the invitation of Play Soccer Ghana, a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO).

Mr Addiechi is expected in the country on Friday, February 9 and will depart on Monday, February 12.

During the three-day visit, the FIFA official will call on the Ministers of Education, Science and Sports and Interior and meet partners of Play Soccer Programme in Ghana.

A statement issued by Mr Charles Cobbina, Country Director in charge of Programmes of Play Soccer Ghana copied to the GNA Sports said Mr Addiechi would also visit three of the sites of the Programme in Ghana at Ashiaman, Tema SOS and Bunso to interact with communities and volunteers and then meet the press for a briefing.

Play Soccer Ghana, is the flagship programme in Africa and is part of a FIFA Football for Hope mission and the world governing body as it aims at developing sports through education at the grassroots level. Play Soccer engages 1400 boys and girls in 12 communities in Ghana spread in the Eastern, Ashanti, Central and Greater Accra Regions. The children are taught the rudiments of soccer and discuss healthy lifestyle and social development issues among others.
