FIFA to investigate Man City over transfer of Ghanaian youngster Dominic Oduro

FIFA have launched an investigation into the transfer of Ghanaian youngster Dominic Oduro from Right to Dream Football Academy to English Premier League giants Manchester City.

Manchester City could face the wrath of FIFA by receiving a c life transfer ban if they are found to have breached regulations governing the transfer of underage players from Africa.

Youngster Dominic Oduro and George Davies both told Danish newspaper Jyllands-Postenin in a publication that they played for the club before turning 18 in what could be deemed a breach of Fifa rules placing severe restrictions on teams taking child footballers from their home countries.

FIFA confirmed in September an investigation was “ongoing” into what can now be revealed are matches played by African youngsters brought over to England. (Telegraph.co.uk).

Oduro, now 23, was transferred to Manchester City from Ghanaian-based British owned Academy Right to Dream in January 2013.

The midfielder has gone ahead to play for clubs in Belgium, Denmark, Sweden and the U.S.A.

Manchester City have a relationship with Right to Dream Academy who have supplied them players Mohammed Abu, Razak Nuhu, Godsway Donyoh and a host of other players from the Akosombo-based football breeding house.

FIFA could also ban RtD for their involvement in the transfer.
