The Ghana FA Normalization Committee is set to be reconstituted by FIFA following an extension of their mandate, FootballMadeInGhana.com understands.
A FIFA Task Force is expected in Ghana by the close of the week to commence the processes leading to the reconstitution of the membership of the new committee.
Close FIFA sources say the President of the committee Dr. Kofi Amoah is likely to stay on as the leader of the new body but the remaining three members of the committee are likely to be changed.
This means that Ms. Lucy Quist, Naa Odofoley Nortey and Sammy Kuffour (who replaced Duah Adonteng) are set to bid goodbye to the committee to make way for the new members.
The source further disclosed that the new composition of the committee is likely to have a representative of CAF and FIFA with a renewed mandate to steer Ghana football.
The FIFA Task Force expected to arrive in the country by Friday will spell out a proper mandate for the committee which will have a more definite role to perform than the existing one.
FootballMadeInGhana.com understands that FIFA is unhappy with the progress of work by the Dr. Amoah-led committee and will make their position clear on that even before appointing the new members.
The current committee appointed on the 13th of September 2018 has not been able to exhaust their mandate, key amongst the list is the review of the statutes of the Ghana FA and the organization of election for the new executive committee of the FA.
With FIFA itself stepping in to run the show now, Ghanaians can now be assured that by 30th September 2019, Ghana football will have a new direction.
