Asante Kotoko coach David Duncan has insisted that he is expecting an improved performance from his players when they lock horns with Serbian side FK Jagodina in an international friendly at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.

The Ghanaian giants invited Jagodina as part of the club's 80th-anniversary celebration after failed moves to get Belgian and Greek sides Petrolul and Veria FC respectively.

“This isn’t like playing a local club where the motivation is low, it’s with a foreign club [FK Jagodina] and an international friendly,” Duncan told the club's website. “This is the type of games that brings the best out of players.

“We have quite a number of players - close to 30 players- who are equally in good conditions. We always want to see partnership in some departments; central defensive pair, central midfielder pair and the attacking pair so matches of this nature gives you that opportunity,” he added.

Goal understands that Jagodina arrived in the country on Saturday evening around with only 11 players (one goalkeeper and 10 outfield players) and took a bus to Kumasi in a four-hour journey after failure to have a flight.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 17h30 GMT and Jagodina will leave Ghana on Monday afternoon.
