The boss at DeKuip says he is keen on adopting the Dutch-born Ghanaian striker but that will be subjected to his wife’s approval

Feyenoord manager Fred Rutten has revealed he is interested in adopting Dutch-born Ghanaian forward Elvis Manu.

Rutten concedes his wife may kick against the idea because they already have two children of their own already.

“I told him (Manu) that I'm going to adopt him. Though my wife will just not like it because we already have two children. I look at the core faces of football, but also to those of humans. I find it very important. If you can find it with each other then you can develop,” Rutten told RTV.

Manu has become the darling boy of the coach, but he said he gives equal attention to all players.

“Not one player is for me and that’s most important, but it is a part of the development of the team. Life for me is still beautiful. I am working as a coach and as a man,” he stated.

Manu has been on fire for the Dutch side under Rutten and it is, however, unclear where he will pledge his allegiance – Ghana or Netherlands – should the adoption take place.
