Under-fire Hearts striker Gilbert Fiamenyo has denied leaking an audio tape which has led to the suspension of young midfielder Issah Mumuni.

Fiamenyo, believed to be a close ally of the club’s majority shareholder, Togbe Afede XIV, has been accused of leaking the tape which captured players mocking the downward turn of the club this season.

But the bulky striker has dismissed the claims, insisting he has no hand in the

audio recording circulating in the local media.

“I heard it but I wonder when they said it. Because I left quickly after the game. So I was shocked that this happened,” he told Peace FM.

“I don’t have a hand in it. I didn’t leak anything. I won’t do that for anything.”

The capital-based side has launched an investigation into the matter which has tainted the image of the club.

Issah Mumuni, a former player of second-tier side Dreams FC, is reported to have admitted his voice on the tape, which led to his indefinite suspension with quartet Tetteh Luggard, Vincent Atinga, Paul Acquah and Isaac Oduro being investigated.
