Fifa boss Blatter set for Ghana visit

Fifa president Joseph Sepp Blatter will arrive in Ghana next month to witness the opening of the African Cup of Nations.

Blatter will also commission projects funded by Fifa to improve the game?s infrastructural development in Ghana.


He will arrive in the country on 18 January, two days before the African Cup of Nations starts in Accra.


"It is gratifying to note that the President of FIFA, Mr. Sepp Blatter is expected to inaugurate Ghana?s Goal Projects on 19th January 2008,? said Ghana FA president, Kwesi Nyantakyi said.

Fifa has supported Ghana by providing funds for the construction of the technical centre in Prampram - the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.


Funds for the construction of the new Ghana Football Association secretariat and the laying of an artificial pitch at the Tema Park were also provided by Fifa.
