Former striker for Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Saddick Adams, has chided head coach of the team, Prosper Narteh Ogum, over his coaching prowess with regard to the team’s performance.

According to him, Ogum is reported to have been a professional teacher who was teaching something related to Physical Education (PE) in schools before venturing into full-time coaching.

He stated that coaches who have a teaching background tend to demand too much from the players in terms of respect due to their educational credentials which does not help the team.

In a video shared by National TV GH on YouTube, Adams advised Ogum to focus on his teaching profession as he struggles with the Kotoko team in recent matches.

“I thought Prosper Ogum was a good coach and I heard he was a professional PE or whatever in the school. He should focus on lecturing and stop coaching. The players are professionals, so they should not be treated like kids.

“I can’t deal with those kinds of coaches that are PE teachers and lecturers in school because they demand so much respect outside the pitch than on the pitch and it does not go well with football. There are others who don’t really care like coach Duncan and co,” he said.

Saddick Adams parted ways with Kotoko in May 2018 after helping the team win the MTN FA Cup in 2017.

Ogum has faced criticism for the performance of Kotoko, who lost to Bechem United in Match Week 10 of the Ghana Premier League.

Following the defeat, the Porcupine Warriors are lying sixth on the league table with 15 points, with five points separating them from leaders Bibiani Gold Stars.
