Ghanaian football fans have unleashed a verbal onslaught on independent presidential candidate and leader of The New Force, Nana Kwame Bediako, following his comments during an interview with GTV.
In the interview, Bediako criticized football fans for the time spent watching football, labeling it a bad investment. He also claimed it was impulsive and unwise for fans to dedicate their time to watching footballers who are paid heavily while they themselves gain nothing in return.
These comments have not been well-received by football fans, who have expressed their frustrations and criticism of the presidential candidate on social media.
Many fans argue that watching football does not diminish their productivity.
One fan, concerned about how this might affect Bediako’s chances in the elections, tweeted: "My president go lose votes with this statement.
Another fan commented: "He just wanted to sound smart."
A fan named Eddie shared his perspective on what football means to him: "Cheddar, it’s unfortunate coming from him. He doesn’t know what football brings to some of us. Kotoko and Hearts of Oak aren’t doing well, which is why most of us are focused on European football. It’s unfortunate for him to say that."

So after all the investments in football if the players get the chance to even be part of our local league teams we don’t have to watch them ?
