A former Ghana senior women's national team goalkeeper, Nana Ama Asantewaa, has tied the knot with a Ghanaian coach, Kofi Opoku, in a beautiful wedding ceremony.

The white wedding ceremony took place over the weekend on Saturday, July 13, 2024.

The heartwarming moment was attended by friends and admirers of the newly wedded couple.

Nana Ama Asantewaa was the Black Queens' goalkeeper between 2016 and 2018.

She made five appearances for the national team and played at two Women's AFCON tournaments.

Nana Ama Asantewaa was the first-choice goalkeeper for the Black Queens at the 2016 Women's AFCON, starting in four matches.

At the 2018 Women's AFCON hosted in Ghana, Nana Ama Asantewaa made only one appearance in the goalpost at the tournament.

She currently plays for Police Ladies FC.

Her husband, Kofi Opoku, on the other hand, has been working closely with the Ghana Football Association as a technical member.

Kofi Opoku has been to a couple of tournaments with Ghana's youth national teams.

He is also part of the technical team at Accra Shooting Stars and played an instrumental role when his team faced the Borussia Dortmund Legends (BVB) in a football match in 2022.
