Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council Member, Frederick Acheampong, has expressed his appreciation to his supporters despite losing the Ahafo Ano South constituency during the 2024 parliamentary elections.
According to him, it was his dream to win the parliamentary seat to alleviate the plight of the people in the area; however, his ambition did not come to fruition.
In a statement released to the public, the former Ashgold Chief Executive Officer (CEO) noted that he would not give up his ambition and thanked all those who cast their votes in his favor in the 2024 elections.
“I especially want to thank the voters in Ahafo Ano South East Constituency who voted for me and placed their confidence in me, wanting me to be their Member of Parliament. In January, when I won the NPP Primaries, a well-thought-out plan was devised that would take Dr. Bawumia and me to victory on Election Day, regardless of the opponent.
“When all was said and done, I had knocked on many doors, walking the vast majority of the constituency several times. To the voters of Ahafo Ano South East, a big thank you. This journey would not have been possible without help from my family and my many friends and supporters,” he said.
This comes after Acheampong lost to his opponent from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2024 parliamentary elections.
