Former captain of Ghana’s Black Stars, Charles Akunnor has asked fans of the team to be patient with Asamoah Gyan following his move to UAE club Al Ain.
He told ROK Sports that regardless of whatever club Gyan joins, all Black Stars fans want is to see the striker scoring goals for the Black Stars.
Akunnor however believes that money was the main motivator for Gyan to make the move but noted that such opportunities are rare and a player needs to grab them when they occur.
The former Okwahu and Goldfields winger expressed the hope that Gyan will return to Sunderland a better player after his loan spell, however noting that the UAE top flight is of a relatively low standard.
