University of Education, Winneba’s forward, Abel Manomey, has inked his name in the history books by becoming the highest scorer in the history of the Ghana Universities Sports Association Games (GUSA) men’s football competition.
The former Accra Great Olympics and Hearts of Oak hitman netted 10 times in 10 games in this year’s edition which was held at Legon.
This includes a stunning five-goal performance to ensure UEW eased past GIJ in their last game of the 2020 campaign.
His all-time tally now stands at 39 goals in 35 games in six GUSA appearances.
Manomey is well-known for refusing a mouthwatering offer to join Bahrani club Isaa United to pursue Master of Philosophy in Health Physical Education Recreation and Sports.
He was one of the most lethal goalscorers in the Ghana Premier League before a career-threatening injury stalled his progress.
He scored 20 goals in 15 appearances for Great Olympics during his first stint with the club.
