Accra, Dec. 19, GNA - Ms Esther Dankwa, former National Athlete based in Holland, on Friday donated clothing, shoes and other items worth 1,800 euros to the Street Academy, an anti-street children NGO in Accra. She said money to purchase the items was raised through her personal efforts in the Netherlands. Ms Dankwa noted that bringing hope to the less fortunate in society was a collective responsibility and urged individuals and institutions to assist the academy in the upkeep of the children. Mr Atta Lartey, Director, Street Academy, who received the items, expressed gratitude to philanthropic agencies in and around the country that had supported the academy over its 20 years of existence. The Street Academy uses sports, culture and drama to unearth the potentials of otherwise less fortunate persons with the view to giving them a good future.
