Fortune withdraw from Bafana squad

Bafana on thursday receive a piercing shock with the kind of impact that accompanied the recent removal of a pin from Quinton Fortune's knee when the manchester united utility player withdrew from saturday's crucial world cup qualifying game against Ghana at FNB Stadium.

Fortune broke down with recurrence of knee injury at fateful Bafana training session at FNB and coach Baxter well-laid plan to recall the united player for this cunch fixture against the Black Stars was leftstill-born tatters.

"lt is a crushing setback",conceded Bafana general manager Stanley "Screamer"Tshabalala while making the announcement that the south african medical stuff had ruled Fortune out of saturday's fixture" but we managed to beat Cape Verde recently away from home without Fortune",and the set back will add to the player's resolution to again achieve a setisfactory result. lt was expected that former Bafana captain Mbulelo OJ Mabizela, who made a stuning return to world cup action against Cape Verde would retain the holding midfield position previously occupied by Fortune, with manchester united player filling more attacking midfield role.

Now this strategy has gone up in smoke and force Baxter to make other changes to his plan.

With this injury Bafana will face Ghana without 6 key players namely,Zuma,Carnell,MCcarthy-under suspension and the rest.
