Four Community Parks in Tema Developed

Kpone, Jan. 26, GNA - The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports has started the development of four community parks in the Tema Municipality to encourage sporting activities.

The parks have been cited at community four Tema Development Corporation (TDC) park, which has been named as Shamo Quaye Park, Kpone, Tema Manhean near Meridian FM and Ashaiman.


Mr Emmanuel Ofori, Acting Sports Development Officer of the Tema Municipal Assembly (TMA) disclosed this to the GNA Sports on Monday. He said Mr Joe Aggrey, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports in response to an appeal made by the (TMA) for assistance to develop community parks, he gave the assurance that the inner perimeter of the Shamo Quaye park would be undertaken within three weeks.


To the Surprise of the people just three days after the announcement, a contractor was seen at the site constructing the inner perimeter and the work has so far progressed nearing completion.

Mr Ofori said that the Kpone park near the Methodist school has been completed and sports enthusiasts are expressing their joy for the early completion of the park for the Kpone Traditional Area.


He disclosed that a contractor has also started fixing the pegs for the construction of the community park at Tema Manhean promising that it would be finished within the next few days before that of Ashaiman would be tackled.
