Ghana international midfielder, Francis Coffie has been hailed by El Merriekh coach Abdul Karim Gazito and many Sudanese newspapers as the most influential player in the team.
Dubbed as the saviour of El Merriekh by coach Karim Gazito after their Champions League encounter with Tanzanian outfit, Azam, Coffies assisted in fetching two goals for the Sudanese in their 3-0 win on Sunday.
The win gave the Sudanese the needed qualification to the next stage of the Caf Champions League.
The former Asante Kotoko and AshGold winger signed a one year loan contract with the Sudanese champions and has since shown glimpses of landing a permanent contract with the Merriekh club.
Nicknamed ‘Messi’, Coffie has played 6 matches so far for El Merriekh and has scored two goals.
