Ghana international Frank Acheampong was given the marching orders in the Chinese Super League on Sunday.
The former Black Stars winger was involved in Henan FC’s away clash against Nantong Zhiyun FC at the Rugao Olympic Sports Center Stadium.
Unfortunately, the Ghanaian forward picked up a straight red card two minutes before full time as his team played out a 1-1 draw with their opponent.
Acheampong was handed a starting role in the thrilling clash but endured a tough game in the week 21 fixture.
The home team opened the scoring through Yongtao Lu 39 minutes into the game. They went to the halftime break with the advantage.
Nantong Zhiyun FC were also reduced to 10 men after Haoqian Zheng accumulated yellow cards in stoppage time.
However, Henan FC took advantage and managed to level the score in the additional minutes of the game.
The visitors equalized 13 minutes into the additional time as both teams settled for the draw.
The 30-year-old has scored three goals and provided two assists in 20 games in the Chinese Super League this season.
