Accra, Oct 7, GNA - Frank Bruno, a former World Heavyweight boxing contender and a former European heavyweight champion is in the country with four other international sports personalities to participate in the 25th Commonwealth Sports Award scheduled for Saturday, October 9, at the Banquet Hall, State House in Accra.
He was accompanied by other personalities as Tony Finigan, a retired British soccer player, Daltow Grant, a retired high jumper, Ian Dowe Former World Body Building Champion, Robert McGereor from Scotland and a former World Swimming Champion.
According to the organisers of the awards ceremony, Marian Mutola, a former World 800 meters champion and Frankie Fredricks also a former 200 meters World Champion who participated in the just ended Olympics Games held in Athens Greece are expected to arrive in the country for the event by the close of work on Thursday.
Mr Al Hamilton, a founder of the Commonwealth Sports Awards told the and women in Ghana.
He said the presence of the personalities would afford Ghanaians the opportunity to share their experiences with them in a bid to promote sports in the country.
