Frederick Ansah Botchway has opened up on his football journey, ambitions, and views on the state of the game during an interview with Frank Kamal Acheampong on GhanaWeb Sports Check.

Speaking on the programme, Ansah reflected on the sacrifices he made in the early stages of his career, revealing that he sometimes had to walk barefoot to training while chasing his dream of becoming a professional footballer.

According to him, those difficult moments helped shape his determination and character in the game.

He also spoke about his relationship with coach Samuel Boadu, noting that the two still maintain a good bond.

Ansah admitted that representing Hearts of Oak remains a special feeling in his career. However, he stirred debate by claiming that the Zimbabwean league is currently superior to the Ghana Premier League.

Looking ahead, Ansah Botchway said his ambitions stretch beyond winning the league title, stressing that he still dreams of representing the Ghana national football team.

He also backed the Black Stars to do well at the 2026 Word Cup, adding that that the current setup has the potential to reach the knockout stages if key decisions are made correctly.
