Frequent changing of coaches 'killing' Hearts, Kotoko - Charles Taylor

Former player of Accra Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko player Charles Kweku Asampong Taylor says the rampant changing of coaches by the two traditional clubs in the Ghana Premier League Hearts and Kotoko is affecting their performance.

According to him, most of the coaches build their teams towards a particular tourney, as a result, should a coach be sacked in the process and is replaced, the new one finds it difficult to organize what he inherited.

Speaking to Esther Abankwa on Angel TV's on the Turf, Charles Taylor cited his era of being with Hearts of Oak and was being coached by the late Cecil Jones Atuquayefio.

He noted that because Cecil Jones coached them for a period of over four years, the team was very consistent and stable, hence their splendid exploits.

" Hearts and Kotoko change coaches too much, it affects the performance of the team. During our era, because Cecil Jones coached us for very long time, he knew how to deal with us especially during selections for matches. He knew when to bring a specific player.

And it made us perform well. However, nowadays, the situation is different at both Hearts and Kotoko. A coach hardly spends two years at any of the clubs," he said.

Charles Taylor further noted that he blames the management of the clubs for sacking the coaches.

Both Hearts and Kotoko have been sacking their coaches frequently in recent years with the latest one being the dismissal of Coach Steve Pollack by Kotoko and replacing him with Paa Kwesi Fabian while Hearts of Oak sacked Frank Nutall and replaced him with Henry Wellington.

However, both clubs are struggling to regain their form since the 2017/2018 Ghana Premier League season began.
