The controversies and issues that surround the Black Stars captaincy have been a major concern to many football lovers in the country and beyond.

The popular captaincy feud that was reported to have existed between former Olympique Marseille forward Abedi Ayew Pele and Anthony Yeboah who formerly captained German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt is believed by many as the reason for Ghana loss to Côte d'Ivoire in Senegal 1992 Afcon final.

One of the many who believes this assertion is former Minister for Youth and Sports Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye who covered the 1992 Africa Cup of Nations as a sports journalist.

There hasn't been any Black Stars captain who didn't face internal opposition except Stephen Appiah whose, close contender, Samuel Osei Kuffour made it clear that he was not interested in wearing the armband since 1992.

James Kwasi Appiah who is often mentioned in the captaincy saga after losing his armband to Abedi Pele before the Afcon 1992, has proposed that rotating the captain's armband as the Brazilians did in the 2018 FIFA World Cup will be the only remedy to Ghana's captaincy issues.

It must be recalled that the current captaincy feud was sparked by James Kwasi Appiah himself after he stripped Asamoah Gyan of his captaincy and handed it over to Andre Dede Ayew before the Afcon 2019 tournament in Egypt.

Today on GhanaWeb Friday Debate, we ask if you agree with Kwasi Appiah's proposition that Ghana should stop appointing a substantive captain and rotate the role per game.

Watch the video below of what Ghanaians had to say about the issue and join in with your comments.
