South African side, Mamelodi Sundowns, have moved to clear two of their foreign signings off their wage bill sooner rather than later after both proved flops.
The Ghana pair of striker Emmanuel Baffour and midfielder Mumuni Abubakar are to be offloaded if Sundowns can find a taker in the January transfer window.
Both have featured just fleetingly since signing for the club at the start of the season and according to club officials are not part of the plans of new coach Pitso Mosimane.
Baffour arrived in South Africa with much expectation after finishing as the top scorer in the Ghana Premier League. The 23-year-old signed from New Edubaise after having won a first cap for the Ghana Black Stars.
But he made little impact at the Brazilians. The same is true for the 20-year-old Abubaker, who was voted the Ghana Premier League’s 2010-11 Player of the Year by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana.
Sundowns signed him on a two-year deal but are keen to cut their losses.
