George Amoako is facing an embarrassing demotion at Asante Kotoko as he is billed to drop dramatically from a Chief Executive role to an Accra representative of the Ghanaian giants.

Mr Amoako will not serve as a senior figure at the club as the newly constituted nine-member Board of Directors begin to wield the axe.

Amoako's future has been hugely speculated in the local media and was set to be yanked from the club completely.

But Kotoko have decided to "keep him around" due to his role as an Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association, GHANAsoccernet.com understands.

The Porcupine Warriors want to ensure they have a voice on the powerful council and so will let him "float around" as a capital-based representative.

He will replace popular management member Edmund Ackah, who resigned from the club after a fallout with Executive Chairman Kwame Kyei.

The two-time African champions are desperate to restructure the club to measure up to their iconic standard after plummeting over the years.

They are in the hunt for a new Chief Executive with several members of the current management team expected to be thrown out of the window.

Widespread reports have claimed former Ghana FA vice-president George Afriyie and Phar Rangers chief Nana Yaw Amponsah are the two leading candidates for the top job with former Ashantigold CEO Frederick Acheampong rumored to be interested.
