Vice President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), George Afriyie, has said the impending Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) “G6” Tournament will create a good platform for the revival of rivalries on the local scene ahead of the new football season.

Speaking in an interview, he said the teams playing in the competition gives a clear indication of the fact, they will rekindle rivalry and make the competition a keen one.

He said all the participating clubs have what it takes to give football fans value for money.

“If you have clubs like Hearts, Kotoko, Chelsea, Medeama, Ashgold engaging in one competition, then you must expect nothing but rivalry and keen competition.

“I hope the participating clubs will up to expectation”.

Six clubs will go into the novelty competition later in the week for the G6 Tournament at the Essipong Stadium.

The three day competition is expected to replace the Top Four Tournament.
