Deputy Captain of Asante Kotoko, Eric Donkor has stated that it will not be a disaster if the club fails to win the GHALCA G8 tournament which kicks off this weekend.

Donkor said the tournament is a pre season exercise to get the team ready and in shape ahead of the new season.

The defender however stressed the importance of Kotoko’s moral obligation to fight for every trophy at stake.

”of course the G8 is a pre season tournament, although everything is at stake as a club for Kotoko to win but if we don’t it won’t be failure because we are still in the pre season mode”

The Competition which is organized by the Ghana League Club Association (GHALCA) would feature the Top four teams of the 2016/2017 Ghana premier league season, the MTN FA cup champions and the three newly promoted premier league sides.

The Porcupine warriors will face newly promoted Eleven Wonders in the opening group match on Sunday, January 7 at the Baba Yara stadium.
