Accra, Aug. 9, GNA - The Greater Accra Amateur Boxing
Association (GAABA) has planned a special championship in
October to outdoor a new state-of-the-art boxing ring. The ring, valued at 5,000 Sterling was donated by the Haringey
Police Boxing Club, a United Kingdom-based amateur boxing club
last February. Gideon Quartey, Acting Chairman of GAAAB told GNA Sports
on Saturday that preparation for the event has reached an advanced
level. He said that the event will be graced by two officials of the
Haringey Boxing Club, who will officially hand over the facility to
the Association. Mr Quartey was full of praise for the Ghana Olympic Committee
(GOC), National Sports Council (NSC) and Aviance Ghana Limited
for the support towards the clearing of the ring at the port. The GOC and NSC contributed 2,500 Ghana Cedis and 1,400
