Accra, Dec 13, GNA - The Greater Accra Regional Amateur Boxing Association (GAABA) weekly contest resumes this Friday, December 14 with some interesting pairings at the Prison's Canteen, Cantonments. The championships, which will serve as a prelude to the 2008 GAABA Boxing League was stopped for almost a month to allow the boxers some rest after a hectic season.
A release from the Association copied to the GNA Sports said Duke Micah of Fit Square will battle his gym-mate, Jessy Lartey in the Light Flyweight Division while Wisdom Gym's Raphael Abrompa will pitch his strength against Samuel Yaw Addo of Fit Square. In the Bantamweight Division, Jackson Nortey of Bronx Gym will sludge it out against James Kotey of Wisdom Gym just as Square Deal Gym's Mathias Sulley face Emmanuel Quaye of Wisdom Gym. Victor Kuwornu of Bronx Gym will face a bigger test when he clashes with Michael Pappoe of Panix Gym, while Abraham Osei Bonsu of the Bukom Gym sort things out with Nii Ofoli Tetteh of Fit Square, both in the Featherweight division.
In the Lightweight division, Attoh Quarshie Gym's Offei Dodoo is expected to maintain his winning ways against gym-mate Evans Dodoo, while Odoi Yemefio will clash against Daniel Amarteifio in all Attoh Quarshie Gym affair.
Will Power Gym's Ben Lamptey will seek to revive his fortunes against Mike Annani of De-Oak Gym in the Light Welterweight Division, while the "Pride of Ashaiman" Felix Agbozo is tipped to outclass Attoh Quarshie's Samuel Kotey.
Emmanuel Quarshie of Attoh Quarshie Gym will taste his biggest test yet in hard-hitting Ebo Electric of Ashaiman Gym in the Welterweight division, while Abib Ahmed of Wisdom Gym comes face to face against Ebenezer Akuetteh of Attoh Quarshie Gym. Attoh Quarshie's King Paul will clash with Yakubu Dawuda of Bukom Gym in the Middleweight division, while Charles Stella is favoured against Fuseini Diallo of De-Oak Gym in the same division. In the Light Heavyweight division, Maxwell Amponsah of Jah Bless Gym will battle Emmanuel Danso of Wisdom Gym, whilst Sampson Dzaku clashes with Matthew Nandoli in the same division.
