GABA, GBA Benefit From Charity Boxing

Accra (Greater Accra), 15 Jan., Two beneficiaries of the "Charity Boxing Show", organised on November 13 last year to raise funds for the development of boxing, were today presented with cheques at a ceremony in Accra. The show, sponsored by Labadi Beach Hotel, realised ten million cedis out of which five million cedis was presented to the Ghana Amateur Boxing Association and three million cedis to Ghana Boxing Authority, both beneficiaries. The Charity Boxing Committee organizers of the show, was given two million cedis for organisation of this year's event to be held in November. Mr. Mark Edwards, managing director of Labadi beach hotel and Chairman of the Committee, presented the cheque to Nii Quaye Mensah, Chairman of the GBA on behalf of the beneficiaries. Lt. Col. John Shappe, chairman of GABA, called for more sponsorship to enable the GABA to train more talents for the African zone three tournament this year.
