GBA officials meet aspiring boxers and coaches

Mr Moses Foa-Amoaning, Vice Chairman of the Ghana Boxing Association (GBA) on Thursday led a three-man delegation to the western region to have some discussions with aspiring boxers and coaches to see how best the sport could be developed and popularized in the area.

He said soon, a regional secretariat of the GBA would be established at Sekondi to facilitate and monitor the activities of both boxers and coaches.

Mr Foa-Amoaning, said plans are afoot to build a modern gymnasium in the region to help the boxers develop their physical muscles.

The Vice President pledged to liaise with boxing promoters to organise bouts for the young boxers in the region to bring them to a level where they can face the big guns in the sport. The delegation later paid courtesy calls on Mr Philip K. Nkrumah, Shama Ahanta East Metropolitan Chief Executive and Mr Joseph B. Aidoo, Western Regional Minister.

Both men assured officials of the GBA that they would do their best, to support Association explore new world champions from the region.
