The Ghana Boxing Authority (GBA) Review Committee has recommended that Referee Roger Barnor be suspended as a licensee of the GBA for four international / domestic boxing tournaments effective from June 17, 2013.

Meanwhile, all the sanctioning bodies have been informed, and the Executive Board of the GBA also taken a serious view on the interviews granted by Roger Barnor to television stations and journalists which were described as unethical, unfairly castigating renowned boxing personalities including former World Champion / Boxing Professor Azumah Nelson and Promoter / Manager Mr. Henry Manly Spain of Golden Mike Promotions for their post-fight observations.

The Executive Board directed that he renders appropriate apologies to the boxing personalities, to be carried with equal or about the same prominence in the media as was the case in the interviews granted.

Copies of the letter sanctioning the referee were sent to the World Boxing Council, World Boxing Federation, World Boxing Organisaion, World Boxing Union, the Commonwealth Boxing Council and the African Boxing Union.mmy
