GCA to honour founder of Ghana cycling

Accra, Dec. 24, GNA - Mr Kwadwo Baah-Wiredu, Minister of Education, Youth and Sports would lead a high profile delegation to honour Mr Mike Ajavon, Founder of Ghana Cycling on Thursday, January 1, at Laterbiokoshie in Accra.

Asone Sports promotion syndicate under the auspices of the Ghana Cycling Association and the veteran Cycling club is putting the programme together.

Aside of the octogenarian, Ajevon, the GCA will also honour others who played pioneering roles to uplift the image of the sport in the country.

As part of the programme, there will be a display of rare cycling skills by the veterans while the young professionals will also exhibit the stuff they are made of.

A host of companies are also billed to present gifts to the old man. They include Nestle Ghana Limited, producers of nest coffee, which has been associated with cycling for years, Pen and plastic, City Migro and California bike.
