One of the leading aspirants in the upcoming Ghana Football Association Presidential election, Wilfred Kwaku Osei (Palmer), has denied media rumours that seem to suggest that he has been disqualified from the FA presidential race.

Osei Palmer has been forced to react to the news after a leading football website broke the news that one of the seven candidates contesting for the top job was facing imminent disqualification because he didn’t satisfy or convince the vetting committee about his integrity.

Although the story failed to directly refer to Osei Palmer as the candidate facing disqualification, the writer left enough clues that point to the former Executive Committee member.

In denying the news on Twitter, Osei Palmer who is the owner of Division One side Tema Youth said “Setting the record straight! I have not been disqualified from the GFA presidential race. Please ignore all rumours”.

This week, Wilfred Kwaku Osei (Palmer) conceded that his interview with the GFA Vetting Committee last Saturday was hectic and gruelling.

This was after he spent over two hours with the Vetting Committee, answering questions about why he should be allowed to contest the upcoming elections. Palmer was also made to answer for his stewardship in the various roles he had played under former President Kwesi Nyantakyi’s tenure.

Speaking to the media after his encounter with the committee, Palmer said “wow, they push me but I will say it went well. I was able to give explanations to some of the questions raised and I am most grateful. The Almighty had me prepared for most of the issues that they raised.”

Over the weekend all the seven people who have put themselves forward to be considered and elected to succeed Kwesi Nyantakyi faced the Vetting Committee. The results are expected to be announced in the coming days before the main elections are held on October 25.

The results of the vetting process is expected to be announced on Thursday, October 3.

Tomorrow, Wednesday October 2 Wilfred Kwaku Osei (Palmer) will officially launch his manifesto and outline his vision to restore and save Ghana Football at the Swiss Spirit Alisa Hotel.
