…As the family of Hubert Kwakyi Ampah Prepares For Confrontation

By Newman Dotse

Information reaching The Citizen Newspaper indicates that the family of Hubert Kwakyi Ampah of Apam community is seriously preparing for war against Agona Asafo over the delay on the decision on Hubert Kwakyi Ampah, a player of Asafo United, by the disciplinary committee of the GFA.

A document available to The Citizen indicates that on the 18th of November, 2010, Asafo United football Club petitioned the Central Regional FA that some of its registered players passports and registration cards were missing from the Club’s Secretariat. According to the officials of the club, they have been informed that some football teams in the country were attempting to register such players without due negotiation.

The club upon hearing the above information announced that any club who has registered a player of Asafo United F/C without a duly signed release letter from the club’s authority should be deemed null and void.

However, the Player’s Status Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) partially acted on the petition put forward by the Asafo United as the player’s status committee meeting on Thursday, 29th March, 2012 came out with a statement that it has observed that; the player, Hubert Kwakyi- Ampah’s registration with Sinapi F/C and subsequently Swedru All Blacks were flawed with inconsistencies and irregularities, thus rendering his subsequent transfer to Asante Kotoko S.C illegitimate.

“We hereby nullify the above mentioned player’s registration with Asante Kotoko S.C and forward the necessary documents to the Disciplinary Committee for further investigations” The Status Committee disclosed.

Surprisingly, nothing has been heard about the case again. As a result, the player’s future hangs on the balance, hence the frustration of the family members who are now preparing for a fight against Agona Asafo and the GFA for impoverishing the life of their illustrious son.
